The Industrial Hygienist III in Richland, WA supports specific project needs by ensuring best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and enhance a culture of safety. Responsibilities Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment. This job description is not intended to include every duty, task or instruction for which an employee is responsible. Other tasks may be assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor’s request. Provides technical assistance to office and field operations to ensure compliance with applicable international, Federal, State, and/or Company health and safety regulations. Conducts compliance evaluations of equipment, structures, and work in progress to ensure that regulatory environmental, safety and health standards of the Company and all applicable codes are followed. Recommends facilities and technological specifications to carry out programs that fulfill the organization's overall objectives. Prepares and reviews technical reports, correspondence and program compliance documents. Establishes and maintains permits as required. Meets applicable regulatory codes and standards where required. Develops and implements IH programs including IH processes, procedures and/or specifications. Develops IH training programs and conducts IH training meetings as necessary. Performs statistical analysis of IH data. Trains and assists subordinate industrial hygienists in sampling and assessment methodologies. Conducts and assists projects with sampling, monitoring, data interpretation and occupational health surveys to ensure compliance with established programs. Industrial Hygienists III are expected to pursue and/or complete an ABIH Certification in Industrial Hygiene (CIH).
